Operation “Bring them Home”

Project Date: July 12, 2020
Beneficiaries: Locally Stranded Individuals in Philippine Army Gym, Metro Manila
Number of Recipients: 500

Locally Stranded Individuals or LSI for short are Filipinos who tried their luck to work in Metro Manila to earn a living in order to provide for their families in the province. These people are stranded in Manila due to the Covid-19 Pandemic lockdown. Since businesses have been closed since March 17, 2020, and no income for these people, they decided to go back to their hometowns in the province, but they have no sufficient fund to buy tickets to go back home. They are now temporarily sheltered in the Gym of the Philippine Army compound.
The Rotary Club of Sampaguita Grace Park in cooperation with PE Cathy Orda, her daughter, Maegan and her friends, assisted by our SAG Tess Fajardo, AG Hermie Bongolan, with special assistance from PNP Major General Bong Fajardo, in coordination with Major Eric Estrada of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, we decided to give the LSI a visit and give 500 pre-packed essential items for their immediate needs. The Philippine Army has sheltered 3,556 LSI, and up to date, still has a population of 800+ in their premises
We hope that we will be able to raise funds in order to buy tickets for the rest of the LSI.
